About me
I’m Luk Simoens — professional snooker coach and mental performance coach.
As a player, I gained years of experience at a high competitive level.
But I also know the other side of the game: the doubt, the frustration, and the feeling of working hard without moving forward.
Today, I bring that experience into my work as a coach and mentor.
Not to offer tricks — but to guide you for real. With knowledge, empathy, and structure.
I’m a certified Chris Henry Level 1 coach, specialising in neuropsychology and cognitive behavioural therapy. This is the foundation of my coaching approach: clear, evidence-based, and tailored to who you are.
More than just technique
My vision on coaching
Progress starts with insight.
Snooker isn’t a game you master through repetition alone.
How you think, what you feel, and what you believe affect your performance just as much as your technique.
That’s why I don’t just focus on what happens on the table — but also on what happens in your mind.
I observe, I ask questions, I analyse. Together, we uncover what’s really holding you back — technically, mentally, or both.
For me, coaching isn’t about pre-packaged solutions.
It’s about understanding behaviour and reshaping habits — so you not only play better, but understand why it works.
Working on every aspect of your game
How I help you grow
Understanding technique
You’ll learn why mistakes happen, how cue ball physics works in practice, and how to regain control over your game.
No tricks or temporary fixes — we build efficient habits based on insights from neuroscience.
That way, your technique becomes something that feels natural — and consistently works.
Mental resilience
We strengthen your focus and help you deal with frustration, performance pressure, and fear of failure.
I use proven methods from psychology and cognitive behavioural therapy to break through mental blocks and build inner calm.
You’ll learn to stay grounded — even when it gets tough.
Purposeful practice
With a personal snooker plan, clear follow-up, and targeted exercises, you won’t just train more — you’ll train smarter.
Your journey is built step by step, always at your pace.
That’s how real growth happens — technically, mentally, and with more joy.

"Conceive, believe, achieve."
Results I’m proud of
Since 2022, I’ve coached over 200 players — some with ambitious sporting goals, others seeking structure, joy, or mental clarity in their game.
What they all have in common? They grew. As players — and often as people.
Belgian achievements under my guidance (2022–2025):
-
4 Belgian champions
-
6 national runners-up
-
49 tournament winners
-
31 finalists
-
43 highest breaks
-
Last 16 at the European & World Championships (U21 – IBSF/EBSA)
-
Last 32 at the European & World Championships (U21 – IBSF/EBSA)
But more important than the numbers are the stories behind them:
Players who dared to dream again, rediscovered the joy of training, and surprised themselves in the best possible way.
How I work
I don’t give lessons. I coach.
That means I don’t stand in front of you — I stand next to you. I observe, ask questions, and offer guidance. Not to teach a fixed method, but to help you understand what you do — and consciously develop new habits.
You don’t have to “prove yourself” or perform to be good enough.
You’re allowed to fail, doubt, and search — as long as you’re open to learning.
Together, we create calm, structure, and real progress. At your pace.
Coaching works when you believe that growth is possible.
And I’ll help you find that belief again.
Ready for the next step?
Whether you’re a beginner or advanced player, recreational or competitive — you don’t have to figure it out alone.
Do you feel there’s more in you — technically, mentally, or both — and are you ready to finally unlock that potential?
With calm, structure, and coaching that actually works? Then let’s plan a short phone call. I’ll listen to your story and help you explore what you need to keep growing.
